ABOUT THIS GALLERY

ELECTION

Somewhere between a political campaign and a promise to aerate your lawn, The Face has acquired a yard sign.

This gallery collects an array of lawn signs, some electoral, some commercial, and some occupying the peculiar territory in between. Campaign slogans sit comfortably beside lawn care, pest control, neighborhood services, and the other small declarations planted along roadsides and at the edges of suburban grass. Gemini helped develop the signs and their language, while Canva helped lay them out in the wonderfully blunt visual grammar the format demands.

Like BILLBOARDS and POP-UP ADS, these images borrow a form whose entire purpose is to interrupt your attention. A lawn sign has only a few seconds to make its case: a name, a promise, a phone number, perhaps an exclamation point. The Face seems unusually comfortable with this arrangement.

Whether The Face is actually running for office remains unclear.

The campaign, however, appears to be well funded.
