Dollar, dollar bills, y’all—greenbacks, banknotes, paper, scratch, cabbage, lettuce, dough, notes, bills, fiat… now all reissued as Facebacks, FaceNotes, FacePaper, FaceScratch, FaceCabbage, FaceLettuce, FaceDough, FaceNotes (again, but better), FaceBills, and fully certified FaceFiat. This collection began with a chance encounter—a beautifully arranged spread of cash from around the world. I took a dozen or so photos, and with Gemini’s steady hand, The Face found its way onto every note. Each bill becomes a portrait, each denomination a declaration. Suddenly, every currency carries the same quiet confidence. It’s familiar, but altered. Recognizable, but revalued. A global economy, unified not by exchange rates, but by a single face. Maybe one day we’ll open a bank.
