This is indeed a space, and perhaps the most ambitious one yet. I had long imagined a hallway where paintings, photographs, and other works could be added indefinitely, with the architecture simply extending to accommodate them. No final wall. No last frame. No reason to stop.
The result is an ever-expanding hallway rather than a conventional gallery. In time it may develop turns, alcoves, nooks, side passages, and other architectural tricks, but the central idea remains beautifully simple: add more work and the space grows with it.
It is called Le Couloir du Visage because everything sounds more architecturally significant when the hallway is French.
