ABOUT THIS GALLERY

DOME

This space began with a simple observation: those jokers at MIT keep turning their Great Dome into pumpkins, superheroes, robots, and whatever else captures their imagination. If a dome can become Captain America or R2-D2 for a night, why not The Face?

From that thought grew a collection of domes, monuments, oculi, observatories, and other grand circular architectural forms. Each one offers a perfect surface upon which The Face can quietly, or not so quietly, appear.

There is something compelling about seeing The Face at monumental scale. The same shape that fits on a sticker or coin can stretch across a dome, crown a monument, or stare back from orbit.

Could one of these become real someday? Who can know. Stranger things have been built.

Fittingly, the gallery itself is a dome, built in a single shot with Claude. A monument to monuments, if you will.
